RELIEF Printmaking

What to Expect:

Students will explore three approaches to creating limited edition RELIEF prints. Starting with a one-color block, participants will progress to creating a two-color print using two registered blocks, or a multi-color reduction print carved from a single block. In addition to personal expression, the workshop emphasizes community and collaboration, encouraging students to share ideas and insights throughout the creative process.

Location: Modern Art Museum (MOMA) in Kuwait City

This class will focus on sculptural RELIEF carving of MDF board to create graphic multiples of the same design, pattern, or image. Through instruction, demonstrations, and group discussions, students will learn how to carve away the surface of the block using traditional tools, then seal, ink, and transfer the raised surface onto paper using both hand-printing pressure tools and the printing press.
